2. Information we process
Microphone audio
Acquiesco accesses your iPhone microphone only while a sleep session is running, and only to listen for snoring patterns. Audio is processed in memory on your device in real time. Audio is not saved to your device, is not transmitted off your device, and is not shared with anyone. There is no overnight recording.
Session data (stored on your device)
The app keeps per-session information on your device so you can review what happened: session start and end time, the number of snoring events detected, the number of alerts delivered, response rate, average recovery time, and similar metrics. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers (we don't operate any).
Apple Health (optional)
If you grant HealthKit permission, Acquiesco can write sleep-related context to Apple Health. HealthKit data is governed by Apple's privacy framework; you can review or revoke that access at any time inside the Health app's data sources and access settings. Acquiesco does not transmit HealthKit data anywhere else.
Subscriptions (handled by Apple)
Subscriptions and purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store and Apple ID system. We do not receive your payment information, billing address, or contact details. We receive a StoreKit subscription receipt that lets the app confirm whether your subscription is active in order to unlock the premium feature set. Subscriptions are governed by Apple's App Store terms.
Crash and diagnostic logs
Acquiesco uses Apple's built-in crash reporting only if you have explicitly opted in to share diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share with App Developers). When that toggle is on, Apple delivers anonymized crash and performance logs to us through App Store Connect. We use them solely to fix bugs.
3. Information we do not collect
- We do not ask you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical address, or precise location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or calendar.
- We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs for ad personalization.
- We use third-party analytics and attribution processors such as PostHog and AppsFlyer to measure app installs, subscription funnel performance, and key product actions.
- We do not sell your data, ever.
4. Permissions you control
- Microphone— required for snore detection. Snore detection cannot work without it. Revoke at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Acquiesco.
- Notifications — optional, used to surface alerts and bridge them to Apple Watch. Manage in iOS Settings → Notifications → Acquiesco.
- HealthKit — optional, used only if you want sleep summaries written to Apple Health. Manage in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.
5. Data retention and deletion
- Audio — never stored, so nothing to delete.
- Session data — stored on your device only. Clear it from inside the app, or remove it entirely by deleting the app from your iPhone.
- Apple Health data — manage and delete from within the Health app under Browse → Sleep, or under Sharing → Apps → Acquiesco.
- Subscription records— held by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. We do not keep our own copy.

6. Sharing
We do not share user data with third parties. The only exceptions:
- Apple, when you make a subscription purchase, for payment processing and subscription verification.
- PostHog and AppsFlyer, for product analytics and mobile attribution event processing. We do not send them audio recordings or Apple Health data.
- Legal process— only if compelled by a valid legal request applicable to the data we hold. Because we don't store user data on servers, there is generally nothing for us to produce.
7. Children
Acquiesco is intended for adults. The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through our app, contact us at acquiesco.app@gmail.com.
8. Security
Because Acquiesco analyzes audio on-device and does not transmit your audio or session data off your device, there is no server-side store of your audio to breach. Subscription state is verified using Apple's StoreKit framework over an encrypted connection managed by Apple. Analytics and attribution event data sent to our processors is limited to app usage and subscription funnel metadata.
9. International users
Persistence of Visionis based in the United States. Because Acquiesco does not transmit your microphone audio or Apple Health data to a server we operate. App usage analytics and attribution events may be processed by our service providers in other jurisdictions. App Store purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy framework.
10. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)
Even though we do not collect or retain your microphone audio or Apple Health data on our servers, applicable privacy laws may give you the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data handled by us or our processors, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any such right, contact us at acquiesco.app@gmail.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
11. Medical disclaimer
Acquiesco is a sleep-aid app for couples. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent sleep apnea or any other medical condition. If snoring is severe or accompanied by gasping, choking, or significant daytime fatigue, consult a licensed clinician.
12. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and post the new version at acquiesco.com/privacy. Material changes will also be communicated in-app the next time you open it.
